Highlights from the 2026 Single-Cell Proteomics Workshop at PTI

As part of its commitment to disseminating technology, PTI hosted a full-day, hands-on Single-Cell Proteomics (SCP) Workshop at its Watertown headquarters following the 9th annual Single-Cell Proteomics Conference (SCP2026) at Northeastern University. Researchers from industry and academia came together for an intensive deep dive into the full SCP workflow from biological sample prep to mass spectrometry data analysis.

Highlights from the 2026 Single-Cell Proteomics Workshop at PTI

Earlier this month, PTI hosted 24 researchers from universities and research groups around the country for the annual hands-on workshop.

Working alongside Josh Cantlon from Scienion (assisted by PTI's Lina Warinner), Vladimir Ondruska from Bruker (assisted by PTI's Corinna Friedrich), and Bernard Delanghe from ThermoFisher, attendees explored cutting-edge single-cell proteomics techniques, including:

  • Sample collection and preparation using the nPOP method on the cellenONE
  • Peptide handling and cleanup strategies optimized for single-cell sensitivity
  • Real-time data acquisition with high-resolution mass spectrometry
  • Comprehensive data analysis to extract meaningful biological insights

The 2026 SCP Workshop equipped participants with both the technical skills and conceptual framework needed to accelerate their own research in this rapidly evolving field. As PTI continues to develop technologies and protocols for single-cell proteomics, we will host more workshops and create other learning opportunities for researchers to gain hands-on experience. Our ethos is to be open about our research practices and help the scientific community in kind.

We look forward to seeing you at PTI for next year's workshop! For more information about SCP2026 and future workshops, please visit single-cell.net and view recordings of past presentations on YouTube.
